Why?

I started this "project" in the midst of a great depression. I've always loved polaroids, and I had a few floating around in my car. I was feeling really upset and depressed. I found some of the photos and a Sharpie and the idea came to my head to write something encouraging on one of them for me to read. I wrote "Love your life." After holding onto it and pondering it for a bit I realized--I didn't need the photo. I took two more of the photos and added "Smile" and "Laugh often" to them and I got out of my car.

In front of where I was parked, there was a free newspaper dispersing apparatus (ie: news paper thingy). I saw a rather rigid and sad looking man take a paper out and I knew that would be my first stop. After that, I left one on the windshield of a car (see the first post) and one on a bench. I then made a few more and left them around. I went from feeling so upset to feeling so amazingly happy and good about myself. I knew that if I were to stumble upon one of these, I'd be absolutely thrilled.

The name "Love Yourself Always" comes from a photo from an upcoming batch. I loved what I had written and decided to name the "project" that. Ultimately, my project is to spread happy. Wherever I go, I'll leave photos and happy messages to make people smile. It makes me smile to know that, maybe, because of a little thing I did, someone is a little happier.

My second batch of photos is coming up soon.

Also: I bought a domain name. Soon this blog will be hosted from http://www.loveyourselfalways.net. I'm also getting a rubber stamp to stamp the backs of the photos. :)

Love yourself. Always.
Mollie
